National Off-Road Bicycle Association (NORBA) Program
1987
Back in the day, Wally rode for the factory "Team General" with then-semi-famous BMX and F-1 rider
Tinker Juarez. Tinker has gone on to bigger and better things, such as
becoming a U.S. national champion and Olympic gold medalist. |

The first Mountain Dew mountain
bike commercial
1989
The Peddler Goes Madison Avenue
Holztman/Stauros Inc., producers
of a new series of Mountain Dew commercials to be released in early spring
1989, has chosen The Peddler bicycle shops of Long Branch and Eatontown,
New Jersey to be technical advisors for the mountain bike versions of these
commercials.
Wally Tunison, Manager of the
Peddler of Long Branch, worked with Fat City Cycles of Somerville, Massachusetts, AXO Sport, JT Racing of California and Nolan Helmets to acquire bicycles
and clothing for this production. Tunison is the NORBA representative
for the state of NJ and has promoted numerous ATB events over the last
four years.
This commercial will feature
mountain bikes for the first time on a nationally shown status. Featured
in this commercial will be Team Miyata rider Greg Herbold, observed trials
rider Mitch Carrier, John Griel and Sun Valley National NORBA's event promoter,
Doug Neidrich. |
